Support for the reform programme continues, Europe Now meets European criteria

During the second day of their visit to Brussels, Minister of Finance and Social Welfare Milojko Spajić and Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović met with European officials to discuss the activities of the new Government, which created the preconditions for the Europe Now tax reform programme. Everyone agrees that the programme is based on foundations that should be supported.

Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović was hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Labour of Belgium Pierre-Yves Dermagne. The Belgian Minister supported the initiative of the Montenegrin Government, which includes such a bold reform, and praised the economic recovery that Montenegro is recording in 2021. He also expressed full support for the European integration process, but also for the improvement of economic cooperation with Montenegro.

Milatović informed his Belgian counterpart about the activities and measures taken by the Government to recover economic activity and create the preconditions for the development of a programme such as Europe Now, a reform aimed at improving living standards of citizens.

There are many opportunities for cooperation and strengthening economic ties between Belgium and Montenegro. A refreshing economic reform was presented, more precisely a whole set of reforms that was designed and supported by the new Government of Montenegro. Thus, the discussion we had was interesting and refreshing, said Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium Pierre-Yves Dermagne.
