The Montenegrin Cabinet, at today's 24th session, chaired by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Game and Hunting. Innovative legal solutions achieve complete compliance with the Law on Nature Protection, as well as with European directives on the preservation of natural habitats and wild flora and fauna, as well as the preservation of wild birds, which will result in better protection and improvement of hunting.

The Cabinet adopted the Information on EU support to the countries of the Western Balkans to mitigate the effects of the energy crisis. The Information states that, at the initiative of North Macedonia and other countries of the Western Balkans, which are more affected by the energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, and which turned to the European Commission for support in mitigating the effects of the crisis, the European Commission made a decision to support the countries of the Western Balkans with an additional one billion euros in grants. The funds will be intended for providing short-term and medium-term support in order to achieve a greater degree of energy independence and transition to renewable energy sources. Of that amount, EUR 500 million will be earmarked for joint, regional support, with a focus on projects that involve partial or full support from the energy sector, while the remaining 500 million euros will be distributed through national programmes to each of the countries of the Western Balkans individually. On this occasion, the Cabinet tasked the Ministry of Capital Investments to, in cooperation with the Ministries of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism, Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Science and Technological Development, European Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister, prepare a proposal for priority projects for financing. Also, the Ministry of Capital Investments should submit the prepared project proposal to the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro.

The Roadmap for prevention, detection, suppression and protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats and risks (CBRN), prevention and suppression of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, and preventing them from falling into the hands of non-state actors (2023-2028) has been adopted. The roadmap defines the guidelines for coordinating activities at the national level, as well as achieving cooperation with other countries, regional and international organisations and initiatives in order to comprehensively and effectively deal with this complex international phenomenon. Montenegro is strongly committed and determined to actively participate and contribute to the fundamental implementation of all international obligations in this area, by creating all the necessary assumptions for the effective control of the development, production and transfer of sensitive technologies, weapons and military equipment, as well as dual-use goods. As a responsible member of the UN, NATO and OSCE, Montenegro is strongly committed to strengthening regional and international peace and security.
