The 38th Cabinet session – 26 January 2023

The Montenegrin Cabinet, at today's 38th session chaired by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights.

The Cabinet adopted the Decision on the formation of the Negotiating Working Group for the Chapter 13 – Fisheries.

The Information on EU support programmes for Montenegro for 2022 was adopted.

The Cabinet adopted the Information on the intention of the Government of Montenegro to purchase part of the remaining shares owned by the minority shareholders of the Port of Bar.

The Information on the agreement on the use of lobbying services for the needs of the Government of Montenegro was adopted. The Information states that the Prime Minister, recognising the need for further strengthening of relations between Montenegro and the United States of America, concluded an Agreement on representing the interests of the Government and its ministries in the USA with the lobbying company Bipartisan Solution Inc. from Washington. Lobbying services refer to the representation of the interests of Montenegro and its position on numerous critical global topics, such as: relations with the USA, the EU and NATO, and the fight against corruption and organised crime, international investments and development, climate change and sustainable development. Company Bipartisan Solution is required to regularly report all activities related to the Agreement to the US Department of Justice and to strictly comply with applicable United States lobbying laws and regulations.

The Cabinet adopted the Report on the implementation of the Programme of incentive measures in the field of tourism for 2022. The Programme included four support measures: organising events/festivals; improving the quality of services and offers in the camps; improving the offer and raising the quality of services in rural tourism, and development of innovative tourist products and services that enrich the tourist offer in rural, cultural, health, sports and other types of tourism. Given that the implemented measures have shown excellent results, the implementation of the Programme will continue this year.
