The 56th Cabinet session – 8 June 2023

The Montenegrin Cabinet, at today's 56th session, chaired by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, adopted the Draft Law on the final account of the budget of Montenegro for 2022. It was pointed out that, after the strong growth of economic activity of 13% in 2021, dynamic economic trends in Montenegro continued in 2022, despite the negative effects of the war crisis in Ukraine.

The Cabinet adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Free Legal Aid in order to ensure efficient and effective access to justice.

The Cabinet adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Montenegro. The reason for the amendments to the Law is to harmonise it with the conventions of the Council of Europe and the United Nations, the legal standards of the European Court of Human Rights and other international documents.

The Cabinet adopted the Draft Law on Ratification of the International Agreement on the Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations, which was signed on 19 March 2021 in Belgrade.

The Cabinet adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Central Bank of Montenegro in order to bring this Law into line with the recommendations of the European Union and the IMF.

The Cabinet adopted the Report on the implementation of the Action Plan for meeting the final benchmarks in Chapter 27 - Environment and Climate Change, for the reporting period September 2022 - February 2023. The action plan adopted on 18 February 2021 is the umbrella strategic document for the environment and climate change, and it provides for semi-annual reporting to the Government and the European Commission. The Report states that 102 measures were planned for the mentioned period, of which 39, or 38.23%, were implemented, while the total degree of implementation, since the beginning of the implementation of the Action Plan, is 56.63% (out of 392 planned measures, 222 were implemented).
