Three-day workshop dedicated to finalizing the new Action Plan of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2024–2028 successfully concluded

The Operational Team for Monitoring the Implementation of the Strategy, in cooperation with the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and with the support of UNODC, has successfully concluded a three-day workshop dedicated to finalizing the new Action Plan of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2024–2028.
The Operational Team plays a key role in monitoring and evaluating activities undertaken to reduce corruption. The Team focuses on analysing the implementation of legislative frameworks, identifying challenges and obstacles, as well as proposing recommendations to improve anti-corruption measures. Its work includes cooperation with key institutions, numerous organizations and civil society, with the aim of ensuring transparency and accountability in the implementation of the Strategy through regular reporting and results monitoring.
During the workshop, experts and members of the Operational Team actively worked on developing measures that will form the two-year Action Plan for the period 2026–2027. It is expected that the implementation of these measures will achieve full effectiveness by the end of the reporting period, further strengthening efforts in the fight against corruption in Montenegro.
This Action Plan represents a key component of the Strategy, which aims to strengthen integrity and transparency in the work of all institutions. The engagement of all relevant stakeholders demonstrates commitment and a shared determination to create conditions for the effective suppression of corruption at all levels.
Montenegro’s Anti-Corruption Strategy focuses on several priority areas, including strengthening institutional capacities, improving legislation, increasing transparency in the work of public institutions, combating corruption in public procurement, and enhancing mechanisms for the protection of whistleblowers. In addition, the importance of education and raising public awareness about corruption is emphasized.
The final Report on the implementation of the 2024–2025 Action Plan is also in the final stage of preparation and will be adopted in March, in parallel with the new Action Plan for the next two-year period, both to be adopted by the Government of Montenegro.
