WARNING – phishing campaigns targeting social media users

We are warning the public about an active phishing campaign on social media, in which fraudsters are using the visual identity of a well-known retail chain to send fake messages about a prize giveaway.
In these messages, recipients are informed that they have been selected as winners of a valuable prize and are asked to complete a registration process to claim their prize. The link in the message leads to a fake website, where users are prompted to enter personal information including identification and contact details to claim the prize.
We kindly ask users to remain vigilant and follow these guidelines:
- If you receive a similar message, do not respond.
- Check the URL carefully, as phishing websites often use variations of official domain names.
- Avoid clicking on links contained in suspicious messages.
- Refrain from opening links from suspicious messages on social networks.
- Avoid making payments on suspicious websites.
- Read message content carefully, as phishing messages often contain grammatical errors.
Please note that a reputable institutions or companies will not request users to provide confidential information or submit documents via SMS, email or social networks.
