Visas

Citizens of Montenegro are required to own a visa in order to enter the Algerian territory. The issuance of visas with regard to Montenegrin citizens is under the consular jurisdiction of the Embassy of Algeria in Belgrade.

Bilateral Relations/Diplomatic Relations Overview

Montenegro and Algeria develop their bilateral relations in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding. Both sides are interested in improving cooperation in various areas, where the particular significance is given to strengthening the cultural ties as well as the process of twinning the Municipalities of Berane and Hamam Debagh in Guelma Vilayet.

The Government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria officially recognized Montenegro on the 20th of June 2006, and the diplomatic relations were established on the 24th of September 2007.

Abdelhamid Chebchoub presented his credentials to the former president of Montenegro Filip Vujanović on the 26th of June 2015. The first Ambassador of Algeria in Montenegro, Abdelkader Mesdoua, performed his duties since 2009, and until 2015.

Economic Cooperation / International Trade

Overall exchange of goods and services in 2021 (January – October) amounted to €2,358,375 (out of which the exports were €347, and the imports were €2,358,028); overall exchange of goods and services in 2020 amounted to €2,011,102 (out of which the exports were €0, and the imports were €2,011,102).
