Visas

Montenegrin citizens are required to obtain a visa to enter Bangladesh. Visas may be obtained on arrival at certain border crossings and airports, or at the Embassy Bangladesh in Rome, Republic of Italy.

NOTE: Before traveling, Montenegrin citizens should contact the Embassy of Bangladesh in Rome, in order to check if they need a visa to enter Bangladesh. Upon entering Bangladesh, the passport must be valid for at least 6 months. 

Diplomatic Relations Overview

Montenegro and the People's Republic of Bangladesh foster good and friendly relations. Interest in intensifying political contacts and advancement of bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest is evident.

The People's Republic of Bangladesh officially recognized Montenegro on March 2, 2007, when diplomatic relations were established between the two countries.

Shameem Ahsan, the non-resident ambassador of Bangladesh to Montenegro, based in Rome, took office in December 2021.

Political Contacts

No official high-level bilateral visits have, so far, been realized.

Economic Cooperation / International Trade

Overall exchange of goods and services in 2021 amounted to €6,3 million and applied only to imports. Exports were not recorded in this period. According to Monstat, the arrival of tourists from Bangladesh were not recorded.

According to the Central Bank of Montenegro, no investments from Bangladesh were recorded.

A business forum of Montenegro and Bangladesh was organized in The Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, on the 20th of November 2015. On that occasion, an agreement was signed between the Chamber of Comerce of Montenegro and the Global Economic Forum, a non-governmental organization that had been given the status of a political and economical consultant by the ECOSOC (and has been active in 104 world's countries).
