VISA REGIME

Nationals of Poland may enter, pass through the territory of and stay in Montenegro up to 90 days, with a valid travel document, without a visa.

Nationals of Poland may enter, pass through the territory of and stay in Montenegro up to 30 days, without a visa, with a valid identity card issued by the competent authority of Poland.

Diplomatic relations

Relations between Montenegro and Poland are excellent and are based on the principles of friendship, openness, mutual support at the regional and international level, as well as within the NATO alliance.

Poland is committed to the policy of enlargement of the European Union in the Western Balkans and continuously supports and provides assistance to Montenegro on the path of European integration, both at the political and expert level.

The Republic of Poland officially recognized the independence of Montenegro on 20 June 2006. Diplomatic relations were established on August 14 2006.

The Embassy of Montenegro in Warsaw currently operates at the level of charge d'affaires a.i.

Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Artur Dmohovski, assumed the duty of the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Montenegro on 6 September, 2018, by presenting her credentials to the President of Montenegro Mr. Milo Đukanović.

Bilateral high level meetings 

President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda paid an official visit to Montenegro on 17 November 2021.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Srđan Darmanović paid an official visit to Poland on 8-9 October 2017.

Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr. Darko Pajović paid an official visit to Poland on 29-30 August 2016.

Polish Foreign Minister Mr. Witold Waszczykowski paid an official visit to Montenegro on 24-25 May 2016.

Prime Minister Mr. Milo Đukanovic paid an official visit to Poland on 13-14 May 2014.

Prime Minister of Poland  Mr. Donald Tusk paid an official visit to Montenegro on 5 May 2011.

Economic cooperation

In the period January - October 2021, total commodity exchange with Poland amounted to EUR 47,8 million. In 2020, the total commodity exchange with Poland amounted to EUR 49 million out of which EUR 12 million worth exports, and EUR 37 million worth of imports. In 2019, the total commodity exchange with Poland amounted to EUR 63 million out of which EUR 13 million worth of exports, and EUR 49 million worth of imports.

In the period January - October 2021, Poland's direct investments in Montenegro amounted to EUR 5,1 million. In 2020, Poland's direct investments in Montenegro amounted to EUR 3.4 million. In 2019, direct investments amounted to EUR 7.01 million.

In the period January - October 2021, there were 11 608 tourists, and this resulted in total 54 694 overnight. In 2020, there were 2,763 tourists from Poland who visited Montenegro, and this resulted in total 7,560 overnight stays. In 2019, there were 47,743 tourists from Poland who visited Montenegro, and this resulted 188,031 overnights stays.
