Montenegro and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are developing good and friendly relations.

Diplomatic Relations

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan recognized Montenegro on May 19, 2010, when diplomatic relations were established.

The Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Montenegro, Ricardo Fawwaz Al-Eitan (based in Athens), took office on June 30, 2015.

The first non-resident Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Montenegro (based in Athens), Saker Malkawi, took office on 15 February 2013.

Political Contacts

On October 27-29, 2013, at the invitation of King Abdullah II of Jordan, President Filip Vujanović paid an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

On October 2, 2010, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro Milan Roćen visited Jordan and on that occasion met with the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh, as well as the Jordanian Minister of Tourism Susan Afanah.

On 12-14 March 2010, the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Ranko Krivokapić, paid a visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan - on which occasion Montenegro was admitted to the Parliamentary Dimension of the Union for the Mediterranean.

During his visit to the UAE, Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Đukanović met with Queen Rania el Abdullah of Jordan on the sidelines of the World Renewable Energy Summit (WFES).

On May 27-29, 2010, on the sidelines of the Third Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations in Brazil, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro Milan Roćen met with the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh.

On the sidelines of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly, in New York, on September 22, 2009, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro Milan Roćen had a meeting with the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh.

Economic Cooperation / International Trade

In the period January - December 2020, between Montenegro and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, trade in the amount of  32.992 € was realized, and it referred only to imports. In the period January - December 2019, between Montenegro and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, trade was realized in the amount of  66.371 €, and it referred only to imports. In 2018, trade amounted to  55.450 € (of which imports were  55.140 € and exports 310 €). In 2017, trade amounted to  48.627 € (of which imports were  45.128 € and exports  3.499 €).
