Podgorica, Montenegro (29 January 2014) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanovic met earlier today with newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Montenegro Masafumi Kuroki.
Cooperation experiences with Japanese investors have been positive, Prime Minister Đukanović pointed out, pledging the Government’s openness and willingness to boost economic ties with Japan.
Ambassador Kuroki said Japan has shown interest in developments in Europe and further Montenegro’s progress towards the EU and NATO accession.
He announced new Japan’s investments in Montenegro and emphasised the country’s willingness to continue providing development assistance in certain specific areas, such as environmental protection. He underlined the assistance the Japanese Government has provided to educational and medical institutions in less developed areas of Montenegro, as well as education and training programs aimed at capacity-building of the public administration.
