Montenegro opens Consulate General in Munich

Podgorica, Montenegro (30 January 2014) – Montenegro opened yesterday its Consulate General in Munich, the capital city of Bavaria, Germany’s largest state. The opening ceremony was hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić.

At the opening ceremony, Bavarian State Minister of Labour, Social and Family Affairs and Integration, Mrs Emilia Müller, welcomed the opening of the Consulate.

The Consulate General in Munich, headed by Consul General Veljko Milonjić, is Montenegro’s third diplomatic/consular representation in Germany, in addition to the Embassy in Berlin and Consulate General in Frankfurt.

The main tasks of the Consulate General, in addition to providing help to Montenegrins living in Germany, will be to promote Montenegro’s economic interests, help establish and renew ties with Bavarian companies, and promote investment opportunities in Montenegro.
