Montenegro ranked “Free country“ by Freedom House

Freedom House issued a “Freedom in the World 2015” report evaluating Montenegro as a free country with a political rights score of 3 and civil liberties score of 2 (from 1 to 7 with 1 representing the most free and 7 the least free).

Comparing to the other countries in the region, Montenegro is better ranked than Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania which are ranked as partly free, while Serbia and Croatia are also ranked as free countries.

Freedom House Annual Report entailing the condition of freedoms in 195 countries and 15 territories stated that 61 country became less free in 2014 shows an overall decline, while only 31 countries have reached the improvements in freedom status. According to these data, the condition of global political rights and civil liberties has shown an overall decline.
