Ivanović, Rising Reinke: Cooperation with the United States among foreign policy priorities

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović received the Ambassador of the United States of America to Montenegro Judy Rising Reinke on a farewell visit.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the state and prospects of bilateral relations between Montenegro and the United States. Ambassador Rising Reinke expressed satisfaction with the cooperation during her mandate and highlighted the importance of the partnership with Montenegro, particularly in the areas of strengthening institutions and developing economic and political cooperation. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović emphasized her contribution to the continuous improvement of bilateral relations and underscored the importance of further strengthening friendship and strategic alliance between the two countries.

The discussion focused on the results of cooperation with the United States, especially in the area of economic dialogue, including the recent relaunch and planning of new rounds of talks within the framework of the economic dialogue. The importance of signing the Memorandum of Economic Cooperation was highlighted, as it opens additional opportunities for trade, investment, and joint projects, contributing to further strengthening stability and predictability in bilateral and international initiatives.

Special attention was also given to Montenegro’s achievements in the previous period, including the strengthening of democratic institutions, progress in reforms, and strategic steps toward membership in the European Union. The interlocutors assessed that the continuity of these processes represents a strong foundation for further cooperation with international partners, additional strengthening of regional stability, and the advancement of economic and political connectivity within European and global frameworks.

At the end of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović thanked Ambassador Rising Reinke for her dedicated work and contribution to strengthening bilateral relations, extending his best wishes for her future professional and personal success.
