Abazović meets representatives of Bechtel

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met today in New York with representatives of Bechtel: Stuart Jones, President of Regions and Corporate Relations at Bechtel Global Corporation and Andrew Patterson, Global Manager of Strategy and Marketing and Business Development for Bechtel's Infrastructure business.

The Prime Minister briefed the interlocutors about plans for investments in development projects, especially in the area of infrastructure and energy. Our embitions are to embark on more intensive infrastructural development with reliable partners, he said.

Representatives of Bechtel informed the Prime Minister about the projects they are implementing in the region and expressed their interest in cooperation with Montenegro in terms of infrastructural development, especially in the areas of transport and energy. We want to cooperate with Montenegro to mutual satisfaction and in the interest of the further development of your country, they added.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the continuation of motorway construction ant assessed that this project for Montenegro is not just a road but an economic corridor, and that the work on the remaining sections should be continued as soon as possible.

The continuation of talks is scheduled for October in Podgorica, when representatives of the Government of Montenegro will meet with representatives of Bechtel to discuss potential cooperation models.
