The Head of the Incident Response Team (National CIRT) at the Cybersecurity Agency, Danilo Potpara, participated as a panelist in the discussion titled “MEST ETSI EN 303 645 Standard - Cybersecurity of IoT Devices and the Importance of Standardization for the Digital Ecosystem of Montenegro.”
During the discussion, it was emphasized that the application of this standard represents an important step towards improving the cybersecurity of digital products and services, strengthening trust among citizens and the business sector, as well as aligning with European practices and regulatory requirements.
Speaking from the perspective of the Cybersecurity Agency, he highlighted that everything connected to a network, collecting data, or capable of affecting the continuity of essential services must be identified, protected, maintained, and monitored.

He particularly highlighted the importance of standardization as a practical tool that contributes to a clearer definition of the responsibilities of manufacturers, suppliers, entities, and competent institutions in protecting the digital space.

Participants concluded that Montenegro has an opportunity to be among the first in the region to implement modern cybersecurity standards and to develop a reliable and competitive digital ecosystem.

The panel discussion was organized by the Institute for Standardization of Montenegro (ISME), in cooperation with the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, within the InDiCo Global project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe programme.
