Efficient and high-quality collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is of great importance for a robust investment cycle, which the 44th Government plans to initiate in the coming period, as emphasised during the meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso.

The fact that Spajić and Renaud-Basso met for the second time in 14 days confirms the mutual desire to kickstart major infrastructure projects as soon as possible.

A particular focus during the discussions in London, on the sidelines of the Western Balkans Investment Summit, was on road infrastructure development.

Montenegro plans to construct nine sections of motorways and expressways in the next six years, as well as investing in railway development, airports, and the Port of Bar.

As green transition is one of the key priorities of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the significant potential of Montenegro in this field was highlighted.

Discussions also revolved around the development of energy capacities from renewable sources, with a specific focus on Montenegro's vast hydropower potential, which can be utilized while adhering to all environmental standards.

It was concluded that the partnership will enable Montenegro to efficiently and sustainably harness all potentials available.
