Coordination Team for Protection and Rescue holds a constitutive session

The Coordination Team for Protection and Rescue held a constitutive session today, 9 March 2022, chaired by Minister of Defence Olivera Injac.

In anticipation of the upcoming fire season, the Coordination Team discussed the information submitted by the Ministry of the Interior, namely the Information on the need to strengthen the capacities of the Airborne Division of the Ministry of the Interior and the Information on the need to purchase a medium-sized helicopter.

The session concluded that the capacities for the prevention and protection against fire and other disasters, from a technical point of view, are very poor and that it is necessary to strengthen them. In this sense, the Team will send the information to the Cabinet for adoption in order to protect people's lives and material possession.

Adviser to the Prime Minister Vojo Laković emphasised the importance of systematic problem solving, and stressed the need to respect and implement the recommendations of the State Audit Institution to conduct a performance audit of "Successful implementation of environmental policy in Montenegro - wildfire protection".
