DPM Ibrahimović meets Dutch Ambassador Joost Reintjes

Deputy Prime Minister for Regional Development and Minister of Capital Investments Ervin Ibrahimović and non-resident Ambassador of the Netherlands to Montenegro Joost Reintjes discussed today the models of strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

The two officials agreed that there are no open issues and that bilateral relations between the two countries are at a good level, adding that there is room to intensify activities and find models of attracting Dutch companies to Montenegro.

Ambassador Reintjes used the opportunity and presented to the Minister of Capital Investments several initiatives and ideas, which could be discussed and developed in detail in the coming period. Thus, the meeting discussed the interest of the Dutch company Damen in the development of liner traffic and water taxi in the Bay of Kotor, but also a ferry line from Bar to other ports in the Mediterranean region, as well as in launching flights between Montenegro and the Netherlands.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Regional Development supported these initiatives.

Ibrahimović also added that an intensive period in the area of improvement and modernisation of the Montenegrin transport infrastructure is expected, such as the construction of the next section of the Bar - Boljare motorway, the valorisation of the airports of Montenegro, investments in the tourist potential of the north of Montenegro.

DPM Ibrahimović said that the development of the northern region is one of the Government's priorities. He added that by opening the first section of the motorway from Podgorica to Kolašin, we are sending a clear message that we are creating preconditions for the development of the economy, and therefore for a better quality of life.
