Gjeloshaj attends the 83rd session of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj stated at the 83rd session of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget that in the long term, sustainable price stabilization can only be achieved by strengthening domestic production, increasing the competitiveness of the economy, and reducing import dependency.
Deputy Prime Minister Gjeloshaj emphasized that the Programme for Improving the Competitiveness of the Economy has a significant impact on reducing inflation.
By strengthening domestic production through subsidies for the procurement of equipment in the food industry, we aim to reduce import dependence – and consequently import-driven inflation – which would help curb inflationary pressures, Gjeloshaj noted.
He also reminded that the adoption of the new Law on Consumer Protection will introduce important improvements in price transparency.
The goal is to provide consumers with a clearer and more accurate presentation of prices and savings, he added.
In addition to Deputy Prime Minister Gjeloshaj, the session was attended by Ms. Jasna Vujović, Director General of the Directorate for Internal Market and Competition at the Ministry of Economic Development.
