Gjeloshaj, Szijjarto announce signing of intergovernmental G2G agreement on infrastructure, data centre construction

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj met earlier today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, confirming the strong and long-standing partnership between the two countries.
The meeting discussed a wide range of topics, including the enhancement of economic cooperation, joint investment opportunities and Montenegro's path to EU. Both sides emphasised the importance of a joint commitment to European values and sustainable economic development.
Deputy Prime Minister Gjeloshaj highlighted Hungary's support for Montenegro's EU accession.
Hungary remains one of our closest partners on the European path. We deeply appreciate their political and technical support which helps us align with EU standards and strengthen our institutions, Gjeloshaj added.
Foreign Minister Szijjarto emphasised the strong bilateral trade that has reached record levels, with OTP and 4iG leading in banking and telecommunications. He reaffirmed his country’s strong support for Montenegro's EU accession and welcomed the efforts to close six chapters by the end of the year.
The two officials also discussed the potential for deepening cooperation in sectors such as infrastructure and digital transformation, and they announced the signing of an intergovernmental G2G agreement in the field of infrastructure, as well as the construction of a data center.
