Minister Radulović and Ambassador Barbosa: Improve cooperation between Montenegro and Brazil, next step is establishing of political consultations

Montenegro and Brazil have friendly and good relations, that need to be empowered with establishing of political dialogue, as well as developing cooperation in areas of economy, tourism and culture - as has been appraised on today's meeting between Foreign Minister Đorđe Radulović with Ambassador of Federal Republic of Brazil, on non-resident basis with seat in Belgrade, Eduardo Botelho Barbosa.

During the constructive conversation, it has been agreed that two ministries of foreign affairs organize first political consultations in the next few months, that will be an important platform for considering all joint topics.

Collocutors appraised that is necessary to undertake additional efforts in order to increase trade exchange that was symbolic so far, particularly having in mind that Brazil is eight largest economy in the world.

Minister Radulović informed ambassador about economic and epidemiological situation in Montenegro, while adding that with massive immunization of population, we are creating preconditions for successful tourism season. The start of new air company „To Montenegro“, that bought two airplanes from Brazilian producer „Embraer“  will also contribute to this.

Ambassador Barbosa stated that Brazilian tourists, after period of isolation during the pandemic, are very interested for travel, so that is important to build ties and represent Montenegro as one of their destination in this region.

Speaking about cooperation in culture domain, they emphasized the importance of the Carnival, whereas Rio de Janeiro is well-known, while considering possibility of connection with Carnival in Kotor. Collocutors also talked about cooperation at multilateral level, as well as on opting mutual support to the candidacies for membership in international organizations’ bodies. The continuation of intensive communication directed to realization of all projects of joint interest have been agreed.
