Acting Director of the Cybersecurity Agency, Samir Orahovac, participated as a panelist at the 3rd International Conference of Montenegrin Security Managers, organized by the Association of Security Managers of Montenegro.

As part of the panel discussion "The Role of the CISO in the Post-Quantum Era: Risks, Investments and Operational Changes," prominent cybersecurity experts from Montenegro and across the region explored the challenges posed by the rapid development of quantum technologies for data protection and digital security.

The discussion addressed key issues related to the future of cryptography, cyber risk management, strategic investments, and the evolving role of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) within modern organisations. Participants exchanged experiences and practical insights on how institutions and companies can proactively respond to emerging security challenges by strengthening their capacities and adapting operational processes.

During the panel, Orahovac emphasized that Montenegro, as one of the first countries in the region to align its regulatory framework with the principles of the NIS2 Directive, is actively preparing for the challenges of the post-quantum era by strengthening its national cybersecurity system and building long-term cyber resilience.

The panel reaffirmed that cyber resilience has become a key priority in modern security governance and highlighted that regional and international cooperation, knowledge sharing, and continuous capacity building are essential to effectively address the threats of the new technological era.
