Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, currently in Davos for the World Economic Forum, held a meeting with the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues, Miroslav Lajčák.

Lajčák commended the formation of the 44th Government, highlighting the impressive results achieved in a short period. Stressing the importance of maintaining momentum as a guarantee for further reforms and overall societal progress, Lajčák specifically noted advancements in the rule of law and progress in Chapters 23 and 24. He expressed confidence that Montenegro has the opportunity to become a successful European story.

Prime Minister Spajić underscored the significance of political stability and pointed out the impressive results achieved in a short period. These accomplishments have not only unblocked the European integration process but also contributed to internal reforms aimed at enhancing citizens' standards.

Prime Minister Spajić emphasised that the government is effectively steering the integration process, relying on political stability and inclusive social dialogue where all crucial decisions are made. This includes achievements such as the Population Census, the adoption of a fiscally responsible Budget, avoiding Montenegro's inclusion on the Moneyval's grey list, and numerous other accomplishments.

Both leaders agreed that relations in the Western Balkans need to be viewed in the context of European future, and solutions to potential outstanding issues should be sought through dialogue in the spirit of good neighbourly relations. In this context, it was acknowledged that Montenegro plays a crucial cohesive role and, as such, is a credible and reliable partner to the international community.
