Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović and Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović presented the health protocols to the representatives of the tourism industry, the Montenegrin Employers Federation and the Chamber of Economy.

Minister Milatović announced the formation of a coordination team as well as adequate care for infected guests.

Health protocols guarantee that all tourists who fall ill in Montenegro will be provided with free treatment in our health system, and all tourists are provided with a free PCR test to return to their home country, said Minister Milatović.

He pointed to the improving epidemiological situation in the country, as well as the good vaccination trend.

Representatives of the tourism industry praised the moves taken by the Government of Montenegro during the holidays and said they were satisfied with the number of visits since the beginning of May.

Minister Borovinić Bojović pointed out that frequent meetings with representatives of the business community, as well as their suggestions, helped create health protocols and called on everyone to adhere to the measures listed in the protocols for the sake of a successful tourist season. Furthermore, she stressed that tourists will get the free treatment in case of getting COVID-19, as well as the free PCR test for the return to their home country.

We recommend that all employees in tourism should be vaccinated because it is extremely important for the safety of both tourists and the employees themselves, said Borovinić Bojović.

The Health Minister called on the representatives of the tourism industry to encourage their employees to get vaccinated, because in that way they protect themselves, their families and tourists. She additionally explained the manner of sanctioning and the responsibility of not wearing masks by guests and employees in tourist facilities. "If a guest refuses to wear a mask when visiting a restaurant, the complete responsibility is on him, and the responsibility of the caterer is only related to non-compliance with measures by the employees in that facility," the Minister concluded.

PCR testing teams are being formed this week and each city will have its own team. Caterers are required to provide a contact person who will be in constant communication with the nearest epidemiological service.

The tourist representatives praised the protocols and procedures for the work in hospitality facilities and said that they were ready for new guests.
