Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj, together with State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development Ana Raičević, held a meeting today with Remon Zakaria, Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Office in Montenegro, as well as with Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Montenegro Bernard Brunet.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the continuation of cooperation on the implementation of the project “Development of Infrastructure for Broadband Internet Access”, which represents one of the key strategic initiatives in the field of Montenegro’s digital transformation.

The project aims to ensure the construction of modern, fast and secure broadband infrastructure accessible to all households, business entities, educational and healthcare institutions, thereby creating conditions for balanced socio-economic development and strengthening the competitiveness of the economy.

The development of broadband infrastructure represents the foundation of the digital economy and an important step towards the modernisation of our society. We highly value the continuous support and expert guidance of the EBRD and the European Union, stated Gjeloshaj.

The Ministry of Economic Development and the Government of Montenegro remain strongly committed to strengthening institutional capacities and further deepening cooperation with the EBRD and the European Union, with a clear focus on the timely and high-quality implementation of the project.
