Info session on the ERC grant in Podgorica

The Western Balkans Fund (WBF) held an info session in Podgorica on 2 October 2026 on the occasion of the current call for project proposals aimed at strengthening regional cooperation (ERC), co-financed by the European Union under the EU/WBF Joint Action, Phase III.

Representative of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Montenegro, as the country chairing the Western Balkans Fund, remains committed to strengthening good-neighbourly relations and regional cooperation, particularly by supporting projects that contribute to connectivity, the exchange of experiences, and the development of new partnerships in the region. Additionally, it was highlighted that the active participation of the civil sector is of particular importance for further advancing regional cooperation and the European integration of the Western Balkans. Participants were encouraged to apply under the current call and to create new partnerships across the region.

Representatives of the Fund’s Secretariat presented key information about the call, the eligibility requirements and application process, as well as practical guidance for preparing project proposals. Participants had the opportunity to receive answers to their questions and learn more about opportunities for developing new partnerships and regional initiatives. The ERC grant, in a maximum amount of up to EUR 25,000 per project, is intended for civil society organizations and associations and supports projects in areas such as education, culture, media, and other fields relevant to regional cooperation.

The deadline for submitting project proposals under the ERC call is 26 October 2026 at 13:59 (CET).

More information about the call, eligibility requirements and application process is available on the Western Balkans Fund website: Empowering Regional Cooperation (ERC) | Western Balkans Fund.
