Sustainable use of natural resources

An all-inclusive prosperity of a country is not possible without agricultural production, preserved forests, clean waters, protected flora and fauna biodiversity.

Ministry of agriculture, forestry and water management, as the relevant body of the public administration in cooperation with scientific institutions, interested public, proposes conditions, manner and time schedule of implementation of agricultural policy measures (Agrobudget), which allocates national finds aimed for supporting the development of agriculture. Agrobudget is created based on goals and is divided into: market-price policy measures (direct payments), market stabilization measures, rural development measures aimed for improving food producers, for sustainable management of natural resources, for improving the quality of life and diversification of economic activities in rural areas and to support general services in agriculture that refer to education and promotion activities, food quality and food safety.

Main goal of agricultural development policy is to increase the production, promote the quality of the product and improving the quality of life in rural areas as well as attain a synergistic effect of agriculture and other industries for the purpose of general benefit and economic development of the whole society.

With respect to international standards and norms and a respectful attitude towards tradition, through the measures of the current agricultural policy, we expect a better positioning of our producers in the wider market.
