The 47th Cabinet session – 6 April 2023

The Montenegrin Cabinet, at today's 47th session, chaired by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, adopted the Information on the Stop inflation campaign. The Information states that Montefarm and private pharmacies joined the campaign. The anti-inflation basket will contain at least one drug or dietary supplement from each of the 15 groups of drugs and dietary supplements. 179 pharmacies will participate in the campaign, which will last until 30 June 2023 with the possibility of extension.

The Cabinet adopted Decision amending the Decision on temporary exemption from obtaining a visa for citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In the Decision, the words direct charter flight are replaced with the words airline flight because subsequent analyses have shown that this change will achieve greater effects for the Montenegrin economy, primarily tourism.

The Cabinet adopted the Information on the Work Plan of the Government of Montenegro and UNICEF for the period 2023-2024 within the Strategic Framework of Cooperation between the Government of Montenegro and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for the period 2023-2027 and adopted the Work Plan for 2023-2024. The main components of the Work Plan, in accordance with the five-year Strategic Framework of Cooperation between the Government and UNICEF, are: child protection from poverty, violence and exploitation, early childhood development, quality education and adolescent empowerment and children's rights monitoring. The key focus of the Plan is on strengthening national systems and capacities for the protection, promotion and implementation of children's rights in accordance with the obligations that Montenegro has undertaken within the process of accession to the European Union and meeting the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, as well as the implementation of the legal framework, international agreements and conventions for achieving appropriate standards in this area.

The Report on the implementation of the 2022 Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy for the Prevention and Suppression of Terrorism, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing for the period 2022-2025 was adopted.

‎The Cabinet adopted ‎‎the Information on the distribution of one-time financial assistance from the direct budget support of the European Commission to Montenegro for overcoming the energy crisis‎‎.‎ The amount of 8.5 million euros from the 30 million EU energy support package will be distributed to the most vulnerable groups in Montenegro as of tomorrow.

The Cabinet adopted the Information on the status of the implementation of the project of reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara Bridge, and accepted the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of the People's Republic of China. The discussion emphasised that the Main Project is expected to be positively revised in the first half of this year, after which the conditions will be met for starting the procedure for the selection of contractors, as well as the start of works by the end of the year. It was also pointed out that the Embassy of the People's Republic of China submitted a new (third) Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation, which provides the Government of Montenegro with grants in the amount of 20 million yuan (RMB) to be used for the project of reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara Bridge and other projects.
